Historical Tadcaster

As you cycle towards Tadcaster, a town steeped in history, you’ll discover its roots dating back to Roman times. Tadcaster was a crucial settlement known for its limestone and strategic position along the River Wharfe. The remnants of its Roman bridge stand as a testament to its ancient significance, while the town’s brewing heritage adds to its charm. Notably, it was also the starting point for the men’s and women’s races of the Tour de Yorkshire in 2018.

The Bingley Arms: A Historic Landmark

As you continue your journey, be sure to stop at the Bingley Arms, possibly the oldest pub in Britain, which has welcomed travellers for centuries.
